Beginners' Courses

THE COURSE!
The tutorials are designed to teach the principles of "target archery", including bow and shooting styles and all aspects of range and personal safety. The lessons provide a stepping stone into an exciting sport in a well supervised safe environment.
Students vary from the age of 8 to the more senior who have just realised this is one sport they should have tried years ago!

For those who DID take up archery previously but have been away for a while, the courses also enable you to resume and regain club and Archery GB membership.
A course consists of THREE (3) 180 minute tutorials spread over three consecutive Sunday mornings or afternoons.

COST
The cost is £60 per person (all ages) and covers all three sessions. This covers tuition and all equipment. The club is insured through the UK national organization of ArcheryGB.

For 2024 we had 3 scheduled three-session beginner/resumer courses on the following dates:
a) 10th, 17th & 24th Mar
b) 23rd &30th June, and 7th July
c) 8th, 15th & 22nd September

2025 dates will be announced during the winter but are likely to be around the same time of year.
 
Any juniors (under 18) registered for tuition must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the period of tuition.

LIMITATION
The ability to draw a bow varies with each individual. The club however, has equipment to suit all age groups and abilities.
The age for senior archers is 18 and over with those under 18, deemed as Junior. When juniors are present for any tuition or shooting, a parent or guardian is to be present.
